What to expect from your initial appointment?
At your first appointment our pelvic health physiotherapist will review your medical history and perform a physical examination of your pelvis, the nature of which depends on your symptoms.
Generally, they will start by looking at your posture, before checking specific points around the pelvis. If required, an internal examination may also be done to assess the relevant structures. An internal examination will only be performed with your full consent and there are other options, such as ultrasound, if you would prefer.
At the end of the consultation we will come up with an individualised treatment plan that may include a home program, recommendation of exercise classes and review appointments to support you to improve your pelvic health.
